Congratulations – Joachim Setefano

Congratulations – Joachim Setefano

National Secondary Schools – Auckland Division saw Joachim Setefano from POWC make an impressive 15kg improvement on his total. Joachim has now joined the select all time group of NZ juniors (only seven since 1971) who have recorded a 300kg total in official competition, creating history by becoming the ONLY NZ schoolboy to ever achieve this feat. Awesome work Joachim.

Apart from all our athletes representing NZ so well in Suva, a total of 22 new National records were set!!

In particular David Liti’s outstanding performance exceeded the best Totals ever made by our 1974 Games medalists (Graham May, John  Bolton and Rory Barrett).

And with the final team points – NZ finished third in the male section and second equal with Samoa for our women.
